Our impact & organic journey

Growing Responsibly. Building for the Future.

Nelson’s Ranch Kenya is working towards more sustainable agricultural practices while supporting stronger rural livelihoods and opportunities for farming communities.
Our approach

A Responsible Approach to Agriculture

At Nelson’s Ranch Kenya, we believe agriculture should do more than produce food — it should create opportunity.
These are the priorities and commitments that guide how we farm and source. Practices continue to develop across our own farms and the farms we work with, and they may vary from farm to farm.
Responsible farming practices on our own farms
Ethical sourcing relationships with aligned farms
Women’s empowerment in farming communities
Rural livelihood opportunities through agriculture
A gradual transition towards greater organic status across our entities

Our Organic Journey

We are working to increase organic production across our entities. We currently estimate our progress at 33%, with a target for all entities to reach 75% organic status by 2030.
This is a transition, not a finished result. Organic status and certification vary by product and farm, and not all of our products are certified organic. We will communicate verified details clearly.

Community & women’s empowerment

Creating Opportunities Through Agriculture

Nelson’s Ranch Kenya is built around ethical farming that creates opportunity for underserved communities, especially women.
We grow produce on our own farms and work alongside aligned farms within communities. We see these relationships as a way to support rural livelihoods and to open opportunities for women in agriculture.
We will share specific examples of our community work as they are documented.
Our priorities

Working Towards More Responsible Production

Four priorities shape how we are developing our farming and sourcing.
01

Responsible Agricultural Practices

Continuing to develop farming practices that respect land, livestock and the communities we work with.
02

Community Opportunity

Using agricultural production and sourcing to support stronger rural livelihoods.
03

Women’s Empowerment

Placing particular emphasis on creating opportunity for women in farming communities.
04

Progress Towards Organic Status

Working towards our target of 75% organic status across all entities by 2030, from an estimated 33% today.
Looking ahead

Building for the Future

We intend to keep progressing towards our 2030 organic-status target while developing responsible agricultural relationships across our network.
It is a target we are working towards rather than a guaranteed outcome. We will share verified updates on our progress as they become available.
